Obituary of Kenneth Oakley

It is with great sadness, the family of Ken Oakley announces his passing on Friday, January 13, 2012 at home in Regina. Ken was born April 25, 1928 in Vanguard. He was predeceased by his parents Arnold and Olive Oakley, his brothers Marshall and Keith Oakley and his two sons Alan and Gordon. He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Lucile, his daughters Pat (Bob) Machmer of Spring Valley, Linda Oakley (Jim Redeker) of Calgary, Susan Oakley-Paul (Grant Paul) of Regina and Carol (Marv) Klingelhofer of Regina, his grandchildren Debbie (Brad) Benko, Ryan (Bobbie) Machmer, Jennifer (Robert) Runzer, Alan (Jennifer) Waugh, Josh, Jenna and Jayme Oakley, Danielle and Melissa Klingelhofer as well as seven great-grandchildren and one brother Robert. Ken dedicated over 40 years of his life to the Claybank Brick Plant. He spent his life there raising his children, toiling in his machine shop, gardening and tirelessly nature watching. Ken always kept himself busy, whether it was work, jokes, hobbies or his family. He was a wonderful husband, father and grand-parent, and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada, 2200 Saskatchewan Drive, Regina, SK, S4P 3C5. A Celebration of Life will be held at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina SK, on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.
