Obituary of Kathleen McLellan

KATHLEEN (KAY) McLELLAN It is with great sadness that the family of Kathleen McLellan (nee Earl) announce her peaceful passing on Thursday, January 19, 2012 in Regina. Mom was born on the farm near Balcarres, SK on December 8, 1924. The youngest of six children, Mom stayed on the farm until the war was over. She then worked as a nurses aid in Gull Lake and Balcarres and later at the Medical Arts in Regina. Mom married Robert (Bob) in 1953 and enjoyed raising their two children, Stewart (Stu) and Laura in Regina. She proudly attended all their activities. Mom liked bingo and was a real sports enthusiast she especially loved the Riders, Blue Jays and Joe Sakic. Family was her life. Right to the end she beamed with delight to see her grandchildren Erin (Rob Taylor), Marc, Mark, Mitchell and Mackenzie and great-grandchildren Hayley, Dylan, Aidan, Tejas and Nylee. Mom is survived by Stu (Maureen) of St. Albert and Laura (Larry) Hillmer of Regina and their families; brother Bill Earl; McLellan sisters-in-law Doreen and Helen; brother-in-law Bob Ohlheiser and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Ormand and Minnie Earl; husband Bob (1997); siblings Muriel Reid, Ray, Terry, and Doreen Harrison. A Private Family Service will be held on January 24, 2012. For those wishing to honour Moms memory, we would appreciate donations in lieu of flowers to the Autism Resource Centre, Box 4751, Regina, SK, S4P 3Y4. A special thanks to Dr. Lotz and a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff of the William Booth Special Care Home. We will never forget your kindness shown to Mom and Dad.
