Obituary of Phyllis Giesinger

PHYLLIS (nee Forsyth) GIESINGER April 29, 1929 January 22, 2012 Phyllis, late of Regina passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, January 22, 2012. In Heaven to greet her was her loving husband Frank who has been waiting patiently for Phyllis since 1993. Phyllis was predeceased by her son Stewart; her siblings, Robert Forsyth, Willy (Frieda) Forsyth, Teenie (Fred) Magee, Nancy (Roy) Allen, Vi (Dick) Baragar, and Doris (Peter) Chaput; as well as her brothers and sisters-in-law from the Giesinger family. Phyllis is survived by her children: Jeff (Judy) Giesinger and children, James and Carrie, Black Creek, BC, Debbie (Lorne) Klassen and children Matthew (Krista), Michael (Chalsey) and Scott (Robyn), La Ronge, Patti Giesinger, Moose Jaw, Ann Anderson, Regina and children Cpl. Jody (Jose) Hunter, Ste. Anne, MB and Paige Hunter, Regina; great-grandchildren: Rylee, Dale, and Abby Klassen, and Zoe Krzuk, Emma, and Allie Hunter, as well as sisters-in-law Annabelle Giesinger and Rose (Peter) Kurczaba and special nieces and nephews Jean (Roy) Hertzog and Larry (Karin) Magee. Phyllis and Frank married in 1950 and were exceptional role models to those around them. Phyllis supported Frank throughout his working life that took the family to Manitoba and Ontario. Except for a short stint working at Sears, Phyllis was a stay-at-home Mom and ensured her house was spotless, meals were lovingly prepared and laundry was crisply ironed. Phyllis and Franks home was always open to their family and many friends. There were often extra plates added to the table on short notice and it was common for their kids friends to move in for short, and sometimes not-so-short, stays. Phyllis was a loving and nurturing mother to all around her. After Franks death, Phyllis quickly learned to live on her own. She spent many weekends in Indian Head with Ann, winter vacations in BC with Jeff, trips up to La Ronge with Debbie and visits with Patti. Phyllis lived at Princess Villa for nearly three years and was lovingly cared for by the staff. The family wishes to extend sincerely thanks to Dr. Pervaiz, Vivian, Gail, Darlene, Eva, Crystal, Susan, Madel and the many Princess Villa caregivers. You were truly gifts in Moms last years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Regina and District Food Bank, 445 Winnipeg Street, Regina, SK, S4R 8P2. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with both held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK.
