Obituary of Marion Jean Francis

MARION JEAN FRANCIS Marion passed away peacefully at Kelsey Manor Personal Care Home on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her husband Rodney in 2003, brother Mac Dodds, sister-in-law Mary Dodds and brother-in-law George Francis. She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters Barbara (Grant) Bloor and Betty (Jim) Umphrey; one sister Dorothy (Don) Reuszer; two brothers Jim (Ruth) Dodds and Bob (Carol) Dodds; sisters-in-law Lil Dodds, Doreen Francis, Ruth (Alvin) Forrest, Gayle (Orest) Papish. Also surviving are two granddaughters Cheryl and Stacey Bloor, five great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Marion was born January 8, 1929 in Loreburn, SK and took her schooling there. After attending Normal School in Moose Jaw, she taught at various schools in SK. She married Rodney Francis on July 2, 1950. She taught school in Hanley, SK while Rodney went to St. Andrews College in Saskatoon. After his ordination in 1955, he served in Aylsham, Mossbank, Cupar, Maple Creek and St. James United Church in Regina. Marion was organist at most places they lived. She loved baking, knitting, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Her smile and gentle ways will be remembered by all who knew her. Special thanks to Lynn and staff at Kelsey Manor for their loving care of Marion for the past five years. A Celebration of Marions Life will be held at St. James United Church, 4506 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Laura Sundberg officiating.
