Obituary of Lillian A. Haider

LILLIAN A. HAIDER (ne Klotz) It is with great sadness, but gentle relief, that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Lillian, on Monday, January 30, 2012, at the age of 84 years. Lillian was born near Vibank, SK, where she finished school. She then went to Normal School in Moose Jaw and began a teaching career that would last full and part-time for almost 30 years. In 1949 she married Alphonse Haider. Together until his death in 1984, they enjoyed bowling, square dancing, singing in the church choir and family gatherings. In 1989 Lillian was blessed to marry Cameron McAra and share retired life together. They enjoyed traveling, dancing, bowling, playing bridge and delivering Meals on Wheels. Lillian was predeceased by her first husband Alphonse, her parents Ben and Annie Klotz, her brother Ernie Klotz, her sisters Louise Erickson and Bridget Frasz and her second husband Cam. She is survived by her son Alphonse Haider; daughters Jan Mowat (Rod) and Susan Haider (Paul) and her grandchildren Ben (Stephanie), Gillian and Megan Duffy, and Adam, Laura and Shannon Mowat. She is also survived by her sisters Tillie Mullie and Caroline Sparling (Lorne), her brother-in-law Grant Erickson, and many nieces and nephews, as well as her step-family of Cams children Bruce and Holly McAra, Carol and Howard Mann and all of Cams grand and great-grand children. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross R.C. Church, 315 Douglas Avenue East on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing may make a donation to The Parkinson Society SK, P.O.
