Obituary of Barbara Isabel Christine Karchewski

BARBARA ISABEL CHRISTINE (nee Russell) KARCHEWSKI Peacefully on January 30, 2012, Barbara passed away at home at the age of 73 years. Predeceased by the love of her life Thadeus, her parents Margaret and Charles Russell, and her sister Carole Harvey, Barb is survived by her best friend and beloved canine Beakai, her nine children, Joan (Ron) Moroz, daughter Stephanie; Cathy (Terry) Edison; John Karchewski, children Christine (Dave), Amanda, Chantal and Cody; Tom (Janet), daughters Megan and Kailee; Ruth (Shawn) Welter, children Andrea and Jarvis; Wayne (Pam) Karchewski, sons Brett and Chase; Allan Karchewski; Donna (Brian) Zaba, sons Mitchell, Andrew, Tyler (Christina) and children Ashton and Brooklyn; Paula (Dwayne) Leonard, children Bailey, Mackenzie and Randi; sister Pat Harvey and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Barb worked at the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic from 1980 until her retirement in 2000. In retirement she enjoyed gardening, reading, painting, and spending time with her grandchildren. Barb was well known for her wonderful sense of humour and infectious laugh that often brought tears to her eyes, as well as her love for animals. Her love and dedication to the Roughriders truly made her their number one fan. Barb was very strong in her faith, compassionate, and was a pillar of strength and courage for her family. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish, 1021 McCarthy Blvd North, Regina, SK on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 10:30 with Rev. Ken Koep officiating. Flowers most gratefully declined.
