Obituary of Appolonia Martha Tanouye

Appolonia Martha Tanouye January 28, 1922 February 12, 2012 Appolonia, known as Happy? passed away peacefully on Sunday February 12, 2012 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick in 1963 and her parents, Mary and Michael Lorenz. Siblings Agnes, Joseph, Anne, Peter, Mose, Mary, Albert and Steve. Grandson Brent Gibson (Lisa-Jane). She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings John Lorenz (Carol) and Katherine (Kitty) Wilson, daughters Shirley Tanouye, Dianne Gibson (Brian W.), Carol Tanouye (Al David) and Larry Kelln. Happy? lived for her grandchildren and was a phenomenal grandma. Grams will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Dianne Maddrell (Nathan), Diana Dillman (Joseph), Brenda Bonyai (Dean), Shirley Wilkinson (Alex), Cheryl Grant (John). Great Grandchildren Joshua, Jordan Dillman, Katie, Ella, Miya Grant, Emma Gibson, Haley, Matthew Wilkinson and Ava Bonyai. "Happy" was aptly nicknamed. She had a happy personality and was also a beautifully stubborn and determined woman. She loved to cook and bakeAND we loved that she loved to cook and bake! The courageous, peaceful and graceful manner that Happy? showed during her last days is a great testament for all of us to live life to the fullest in the face of death. She was an amazing, self sufficient, independent woman who showed strength and courage in the face of adversity. She lived devoutly as a Roman Catholic her entire life. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Little Flower church. Located at 420 College Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice are appreciated.
