Obituary of Edith Landry McMurray

EDITH LANDRY McMURRAY Edith passed away peacefully on Friday the 15th of February, 2013, in the presence of her family who loved her dearly. She was born on the 21st of December, 1927 in London, England. Edith spent her youth in London, spending her early teenage years through the trying times of WWII. Though the war years were difficult for her and her family, she also found her love in a young Canadian soldier, Roger Landry, whom she met in London while he was on leave from his European tour of war. Edith and Roger were married on the 19th of January, 1946, at the St. Dominics Priory, in London, England; Edith was eighteen years of age. She sailed to Canada to be reunited with her husband, on the historic S.S. Queen Mary, arriving in Halifax, Nova Scotia on the 23rd of July, 1946. Edith lived on a family farm in Saskatchewan, where after the loss of her baby child Lucien?, she and Roger moved to Regina. Edith and Roger were raising eight children, when her husband and father of nine, died on the 17th of March, 1964, at the age of 44, leaving Edith to raise eight children on her own. She was fortunate to have two loves in her life, as she married Basil McMurray in 1975, who treated her like a princess until his passing in 2002. Edith then moved back to Regina to be close to her children. She leaved behind her eight loving children, her daughter Pat and her husband Dennis, her daughter Joan and her husband Roy, her son Mike and his wife Darlene, her son Ray and his wife Audrey, her son Bub and his wife Debbie, her daughter Lori and her husband Lorne, her daughter Susan, and her son Steve and his wife Jane.
