Obituary of Dolores Fidelia Zbitnew

On Thursday, November 10, 2011, Dolores Zbitnew, age 79, passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice after a two and a half year battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Nick and Pauline Zbitnew, her daughter Karen Ware and sister-in-law Sheila Zbitnew. Dolores will be sadly missed by her son Mark Zbitnew (Kim and Corey Wright); daughters, Celeste Zbitnew, Gail (Monty) Moore and Lesley (Robin) Clark; grandchildren, Donna, Stephen, Ryan, Michele (Matt Bircher), Brianna, Amanda and Samantha; great-grandson Austin; son-in-law Louis Marcil; brother Larry (Pauline) Zbitnew, sisters Vivian (John) Posyniak , Sharon (Allan) Hagan, Patti (Rand) Teed; and numerous nieces and nephews. After a career in the federal public service, Dolores was active in her retirement performing volunteer work with Birthright, assisting the CWL, participating in the St.Anthonys church choir, doting on her grandchildren and caring for her childrens furry pets. Dolores was devoted to her Catholic faith and supported her church and many charities. Visitation will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue Regina, on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthonys Roman Catholic Church, 2275 Atkinson Street, Regina on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 10:00 am with Rev. Marian Ogorek presiding. A private family interment will take place at a later date in Regina Memorial Gardens .
