Obituary of Katherine Mary Rump
KATHERINE KAY? MARY RUMP
Kay (Grossman), late of Regina, SK, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the age of 95 years. Kay was born January 13, 1916, in Khedive, SK, the youngest child of Mary and Nicholas Grossman. Raised in a rural community, she completed her grade 12 and then moved to Regina to attend business school in order to pursue a career as a stenographer, first in the business office at Fort San, SK and later the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic. After Kay's first husband (Frank) passed, she moved back to Regina from Fort QuAppelle where she met and married Phillip Rump. Phil and Kay retired to Regina Beach where they enjoyed many wonderful years of beach life including hours of fishing. They traveled extensively with their favourite destination being Las Vegas. When Phil passed, Kay moved back to Regina to be closer to family and friends. She continued to be active in her senior years: bowling, indoor curling and, of course, cooking and baking which she was so happy and proud to do for all her family. Kay spent her later years in the wonderful care of Solace Care Homes where she truly enjoyed the food, the staff and the company of the other residents. Kay was predeceased by her parents Mary and Nicholas Grossman, first husband, Frank Gluting, her second husband Phil Rump, brother John (Johnny) Grossman, niece Donna Ell, nephew John (Jack) Grossman, and Jack's wife Donna Grossman. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families, along with Phil's family and their families. Kay was a sincere, honest and kind person who loved her family and life. She was a wonderful wife, sister, aunt, friend, and very special grandmother and great grandmother. Kay lived a good life, was well loved and her legacy is the family she has left behind to cherish the fond memories and her great sense of humour. The memorial service will be a private family occasion. If you wish to leave an online message of condolence please visit www.speersfuneralchapel.com
