Obituary of Pearl Alma Stone

STONE, Pearl Alma

(née Miller)

Pearl, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the age of 95 years. She was born in Holdfast, SK to Nick and Daisy Miller. Pearl was predeceased by her husband Richard Stone in 2007; siblings, Mary, George, Roy, and Lloyd; as well as members of her in-law family. She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Agnes, Della, and Kathleen; as well as nieces and nephews. An avid musician, Pearl shared her love of old-time music by performing with her husband for many decades at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre and Pioneer Village. Pearl and her husband Dick had a cottage for many years at Sarnia Beach and she was well known there as an accordion player and pianist. She has been a life-long and active member of the IOOF/Rebekahs. The family thanks the caregivers at Silva Care Home and Harbour Landing Village, Memory Care Unit for the care, affection, and dignity they provided Pearl in the last 32 months. As well to her Lodge members for remembering her at various holidays. Grateful thanks to her neighbours, Florence and Charles, whose kindness and support helped Pearl to live in the home she loved, longer than she really was capable of. Also thanks to the staff of Home Care during those last years at home. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. Flowers most gratefully declined. Those wishing, may make donations, in memoriam, to Pearl’s favourite charity, Visual Research Foundation, 202 Westpointe Estates, Regina, SK S4Y 1A4.
