Obituary of Mildred Helen Peakman

HEALEY-PEAKMAN (née LOWE), MILDRED HELEN

Mildred Helen passed away in her sleep on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at her home in Regina. Mildred was born in Hafford, Saskatchewan on October 2, 1925.  Her parents were Frederick and Elsie (nee Blohm) Lowe.  She had an older brother Frederick (Ida), a sister Elsie Kram (William), and younger brothers Howard (Maxine), and William (Mary).  Mildred grew up in Regina and attended Albert School and Scott Collegiate and her family attended St. Peter’s Anglican Church.  She worked in retail until her retirement in 1990.  Mildred married George Healey in 1949 and they were proud parents of three children, Georgene, Gregory, and Gordon (deceased 2014).  George passed away in 1979 and her grandson Scott McLeod passed away in 2004.  Mildred married Ron Peakman in 1990 and welcomed a stepdaughter Linda.  Ron passed away in 2017. Mildred is lovingly remembered by, Georgene McLeod (James) of Regina, and their children Andra Donbrook (Douglas) of Regina, and their children Brodan and Rylan; Shawn McLeod (Caroline) of Halifax, and their children James and Clara; Gregory Healey (Sylvia) of Kingston, and their children Gwen Healey (Jason Akearok) of Iqaluit, and their children Jaia and Amaija; Colleen Healey (Juanie Pudluk) of Iqaluit, and their child Alya; Linda Guggisberg (Don) of Ladner, son Brandon Kolybaba (Sarah) of Nanaimo, and their children Nathan and Ryley; Daena Hamilton of Nanaimo, and her children Kaden and Ziya. Mildred is also survived by sisters-in-law, Esther Healey in Abbottsford; and Josephine Healey-McKeough of London; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mildred loved her various homes, her neighbors, and her extended family.  She enjoyed keeping-in-touch with her life-long friends.  Mildred celebrated the little things in life and believed in always treating people well.  The family appreciates the care and consideration given Mildred this past year at Extendicare Parkside, Regina. Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, 1861 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.  There will be a private family interment.  Flowers gratefully declined.  To leave an online message of condolence, please visit www.speersfuneralchapel.com
