Obituary of Anne Elash

Anne (Annie) Elash passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012. She was born on the family farm near Goodeve, SK on November 21, 1916, the youngest of John and Eva Buraks three children. Anne had known Mike Elash for many years, as he was also from the Goodeve district. They were married at Holy Rosary Cathedral in Regina on October 26, 1941. Anne and Mike lived in Maryfield, SK. Together, they raised their family. Predeceased by her husband Mike, daughter Joyce (Bill Appleton), granddaughter Alexis Elash, brother Mike, and sister Mary, Anne will be missed by her son John (Monique), daughters Marian (Dave Gallant), and Charmaine, son-in-law Bill (Heather Appleton), and Annes seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Annie always grew a big garden and made delicious meals for her family and visitors. No one went away from her table hungry. She enjoyed sewing for her family and reading. Mike and Anne moved to William Albert House in Emerald Park, SK in July of 2006. Mike passed away in 2007. Anne enjoyed weekly worship services as well as various entertainers, who came to the home. She cherished her visits with her children and friends, reading and playing cards. Wed like to thank Dr. S. Haidash and everyone at William Albert House for the wonderful care she was given. Anne was a humble, kind, and gracious woman. She always put the needs of others before her own. She had a deep sense of faith and strong commitment to the church. Anne will be missed. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Josephs R.C. Church, Balgonie, SK on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ed Hengen presiding. Interment in St. Josephs Colony Cemetery. Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to a charity of choice.
