Obituary of Raymond Gordon Thorpe

The family of Raymond are saddened to announce his passing on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents, Johnson and Isabel Thorp; his sister Ilien (Earle) McIntrye; and brother Bob (Karen) Thorp. Raymond is survived by his brother Stan (Lana) Thorp; sister Judy (Randy) Erdelyan; daughters Colleen Jones and Laura (George) Andis; his beautiful grandchildren, Rosemarie Biesenthal, Jacob Schick and Johnathan and David Andis; and his dear friend Lois Schick. Raymond was born on March 31, 1941 on the family farm near Truax, SK. It was there that he grew into the wonderful steward of the farm land and the horses he kept. It was there that he developed his strong work ethic and love for construction. The majority of his professional career was 30 plus years at IPSCO in Regina, SK. During his retirement, Ray enjoyed his horses, trail rides and rodeos, with the company of his like-minded friends. Every morning he looked forward to fellowship and coffee with his Tim Horton’s cohorts. This brought him joy beyond measure. Toward the end of Raymond’s days, he fought cancer with great strength. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. Flowers and cards are gratefully declined. Those so wishing may make memorial donations in Raymond’s name to the charity of your choice.

“The world has lost another cowboy, and beautiful soul!”
