Obituary of Darcee Dawn Weiss

WEISS, Darcee “Darce” Dawn

December 24, 1957 to September 27, 2018

Darcee left us in the loving arms of her partner with a full heart, love of everyone she met, and memories of her world of ballroom dance. Darce rallied in 2017 after health issues, but due to complications with pneumonia and leukemia she lost her valiant and brave fight on September 27, 2018.

She was predeceased by her mother and father Florence and Fernie Maierhoffer; sister Daphne Kurzhals and husband Greg Weiss (2015). Darce is survived by her loving partner, Rod Erfle and family; her best friend Irene (Scotty) Taylor; and her “furry boys” Lucci, Max, and Sam.

Darce was born in Regina and attended Sheldon Williams Collegiate. She lost her father at a very young age, but her mother and aunt Ina raised her with strong work ethics through their family business, Ina’s Health Foods that serviced Regina for over 45 years.

Darce had many talents such as animal photography, needlepoint, sewing, special support to northern animal rescue, and a love for international ballroom dancing. In 1989, Darce started her dream career and opened “That’s Dancing Studio” in Regina. She taught everything from ballroom to salsa dance. This career not only became Darce’s passion for life, it became her family. She developed and nurtured every student that walked through her doors and everyone cherished her no filter sense of humour, fun loving comradery, and special friendships.

Darce requested no funeral. In memory of her, please make donations to the Metro Pet Foundation, 1637 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 0P8.
