Obituary of Ann Louise Greenberg

GREENBERG, Ann Louise

(nee Barnet)

Ann passed away peacefully on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by husband Leonard Greenberg and ex-husband Leslie McKerracher, parents George and Moira Barnet, brother John Barnet, daughter Katherine McKerracher. Ann is survived by sons Stephen (Donna) and Doug (Laurie); daughters Lynnea, Pauline and Sherrill; sons David, Ian and Dan; sisters, Katherine, Elizabeth, Jane; grandchildren Heather (Noel), Stacey (Michael), Christopher (Rhonda), and Sarah; plus, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ann emigrated from England at age 16 and taught in a one-room schoolhouse near Milestone. She enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus, eventually receiving an MA Hons in Mathematics from the University of Regina. Ann worked for many years both at SaskTel and the provincial Department of Mineral Resources, where she received extensive computer training. This training was instrumental in her being head of the Computer Department at SIAST. She became a professor in Computer Science at the University of Regina, acting as one of the founders of the department’s Co-op Program. Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 3337 15th Avenue, Regina, SK on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Claude Schroeder officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ann, to the Regina Sexual Assault Centre, 1933 8th Avenue, Regina, SK S4R 1E9 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK S4P 2R3.
