Obituary of Marilyn Florence Hadwen
HADWEN, Marilyn
It is with memories of great love that we announce the passing of Marilyn Hadwen on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Regina, SK after a courageous fight with cancer. Born into a farming family in Estevan in 1946, Marilyn trained to be a nurse in Moose Jaw where she met her husband, Bill Hadwen. They later moved to Regina where they raised two sons. Marilyn lived her life in service to others through nursing and volunteering with organizations including the Children's Wish Foundation and Lumsden Beach Camp. She was active in Rosemont and Westminster United churches, recently as a founding force in starting a soup kitchen. Family was very important to Marilyn and she spent endless hours cheering on her grandchildren and was proud of them. Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late William Hadwen, devoted mother to Mike (Karen), Trevor (Glenda), loving grandma to Jayden, Keely, Noah, and Alia, a caring sister and daughter to Harold and Tillie Carlberg (predeceased). She also held a special place in her heart for her friends. Family and friends are invited to gather at Westminster United Church, 3025 13th Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Parking will be available in the Holy Rosary parking lot. A private interment will follow. Memorial donations may be made to Lumsden Beach Camp, Box 33172, Regina, SK S4T 7X2 or Children's Wish Foundation, 3602 Millar Avenue, Regina, SK S7P 0B1.
