Obituary of Olga Wolfe
On Tuesday, October 30, 2018, God gathered his arms around our mother and took her home to rest in her 95th year. Olga was predeceased by her husband John; parents Gustav and Rosalie Scheske; and brothers Herman, Reinhart and infant Leonard. Cherishing her memory are her children Sharon (Walt) Yeo, Glenn (Kay) Wolfe, Carol (Bob) Twyver, and honorary daughter Karen Schmiedl; grandchildren Michelle, Ryan (Deanna), Neil (Tammy) and Mark (Shirley); great grandchildren Emily, Amy, Halle, Kai, Isabelle, Alexander; sister Adeline Davis; sister-in-law Clara Scheske Gee; brother-in-law Alvin (Erna) Wolfe; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Olga was born and raised on a farm near Markinch SK in the Wheatwyn district. Olga and John, married in June 1945 and together for 57 years, moved to Regina in 1947 where they were members of Trinity and Christ Lutheran churches and sang in the German choir. In later years First Presbyterian Church welcomed Olga with open arms and blessed her with loving fellowship. Olga’s joy was being a homemaker, creating a beautiful home for her family. She was an accomplished seamstress, and excelled at the homemaking arts, especially baking, needlepoint, crocheting, knitting and ceramics. Her creativity has bequeathed to her family and friends many treasures to cherish. In her later years she continued with knitting, turned to reading, jigsaw puzzles and was ever ready for a game of canasta. She especially looked forward to the weekly Freedom 55 gatherings at First Presbyterian. She was an elegant lady, lived with grace and dignity and endless caring for others. Olga’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy and she loved them dearly. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Carol Geddes, the staff at Wintergreene Estates, her home for the last six years and to Grace Hospice for their compassionate care. A Memorial Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 2170 Albert Street, Regina, SK on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Amanda Currie officiating. A private family interment will be held at Wheatwyn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Olga’s name, may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Regina Wascana Grace Hospice (RWGH), 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6.
