Obituary of Melanie Barbara Flaman
Melanie passed away peacefully at the William Booth Care Home, on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Melanie was born in Qu’Appelle, SK on August 27, 1926 to John and Martha Reiss. She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband Fernie Kuntz in 1977; her second husband Jake Flaman in 2003; her siblings, Mike, John, Agnes, and Louise; and her five half brothers and sisters. Melanie is survived by her many nieces and nephews from across Canada. She received her schooling in Qu’Appelle then moved to Regina where she studied typing and bookkeeping. Melanie had some bookkeeping jobs before starting at the Co-operators Insurance where she worked for 34 years. She moved to Southey to the farm with her husband Jake. She and Jake enjoyed travelling to Europe, the U.S., and Mexico in the winter, and cruising and touring Eastern and Western Canada. Melanie was a great caregiver to her parents and had her mother live with her for many years. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Bentley Retirement Home, Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, and the William Booth Care Home for the wonderful care given to Melanie. As per Mel’s wishes, A Memorial Service will be held at the Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK, on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Melanie’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3.
