Obituary of Florence Veronica Mailhot
On December 25, 2018 Florence (Flo) Veronica Mailhot (nee Podruski) of Regina passed away peacefully at the Regina General Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents Joe and Helen Podruski, originally from Basswood, Manitoba. Florence is survived by her husband of 59 years, Hector; their two sons Darcy (Bobbie) of Winnipeg and Travis (Lorie) of Regina; three grandchildren Quintin, Richesse and Shae; brother Frank (Bev) and sister Joyce (Roger). Florence was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba on October 29, 1939. The family moved to Kennedy, Saskatchewan in the early 50's, before relocating to Regina in 1955. She attended Balfour High School where she met her future husband, Hector at a Sadie Hawkins dance. They were married on August 15, 1959 and began their life together. Florence worked for 53 years as a pharmacy technician, always willing to help others in need. Her hobbies were bowling and attending garage sales. Florence enjoyed gardening in the summer and canning her preserves in the fall. She loved to give gifts and made an effort to make each one look as amazing as possible. She fought bravely for every breath but in the end it never came and she slipped away peacefully with her family at her side. A Celebration of Florence’s Life will be held at Speers Family Center, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Regina Humane Society, P.O.
