ENGELBERT BERT? WESTERMANN April 3, 1930 February 20, 2013 Bert passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Hermine; daughter Diane (Bruce) Wouters; sons, Karl (Starr), Andrew (Debbie), Henry, Claus (Brenda) and Bernd Ben?; sixteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Caroline Lilly?; and brother Friedrich Fritz.? Bert was predeceased by his parents Heinrich and Theresia; brothers Heinrich, Leo and Franz; and sister Maria Imma.? Bert lead a full and productive life. After emmigrating from Germany with his wife Hermine and two small children in 1957, the family settled in Regina, Saskatchewan. A journeyman bricklayer, Bert made a good living in construction while the family grew to 6 children. In 1965 Bert moved his family to a small farm outside of Pilot Butte where he started a dairy farm which he operated successfully for 15 years. After the children moved on and the cows were sold, at age 63, Bert and Hermine opened the Westfalia golf course where he thoroughly enjoyed the many people he encountered over the last 19 years. Public Visitation will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 6:00 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Josephs R.C. Church, 302 King Street, Balgonie, SK on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Danilo Rafael presiding. There will be a tea service in the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be made to St. Josephs R.C. Church, 302 King Street, Balgonie, SK, S0G 0E0.
