Obituary of John Arthur Barr

A great man left the world today. John passed away peacefully with his children by his side. He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Hilda Barr; and brothers Lee and Lloyd Barr. John is survived by his wife of 63 years E Joan Barr; children Pat (Sheila), Lloyd (Cindy), Mark, Peter (Jennifer), Paul (Grace) and Audrey (Jeff) 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and brother George (Shirley). John had a varied working life, starting out as an auditor, then hardware store operator with his brother George, then rounding out his work-life in the SK Credit Union system. He celebrated with many great memories of the work he had accomplished and friends he made. He and Joan had many happy years to enjoy their retirement and traveled extensively. John was blessed to have many great friends and family with whom he fished, socialized and even played a few hands of bridge. Johns family is blessed with the love and prayers from everyone that knew him and thanks for all the support. Special thanks to the staff at Solace Personal Care Home for Johns final care. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin de Porres R.C. Church, 4720 Castle Road, Regina, SK on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Beechy, SK followed by a gathering at the family cabin to be held in July.
