Obituary of Anne Eve Palyga

Anne Palyga passed away peacefully on November 22, 2012 at Regina General Hospital at the age of 79 years. She will be dearly missed by her daughters Kathy and Paula (David Demers), and her grandchildren, Andrea and Peter Demers. She is also survived by brothers John (Rita) Babiak, Bill (Pat) Babiak, and sister Elizabeth (John) Stokaluk. She was predeceased by her husband, Tom Palyga earlier this year, and also her parents Michael and Mary Babiak. A former nurse, Anne will be remembered for her kindness and good sense of humour. She was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and Ukrainian Womens Association. Blessed with a lovely natural voice, Anne enjoyed singing in her church choir for many years. Devoted to her family, Anne shared with them a love of classical music and was an avid supporter of the Regina Symphony all her life. The family would like to recognize the care of Dr. D. Kothare, and the doctors and care staff at the Regina General Hospital and Parkview Villa. Requiem (Panachyda) will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Speers Funeral Chapel 2136 College Avenue, Regina SK and the Funeral Rite will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Descent of the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1305 - 12th Avenue Regina, SK with Very Rev. Archpriest Slawomir Lomaszkiewicz officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Regina Symphony, or to the Descent of the Holy Spirit Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1305 - 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 4L6.
