Obituary of Emma Brodt

EMMA BRODT Emma, late of Regina SK, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in her 103rd year. She was predeceased by her parents Karl and Dorthea Brodt; five sisters Caroline, Ilsa, Katherine, Helen and Alma; brothers John, Ron and Herman; brothers-in-law John and Richard Leibel, John and Jack Binder and Jake and Harold Meier; sister-in-law Irene Langan; niece Eileen Young; and nephews Norman and Harvey Leibel and Don and Bob Brodt. Emma is survived by her sister Charlotte Meier (Kelowna BC); sisters-in-law Ruth Brodt and Lorraine Brodt and 19 nieces and nephews. Emma was born on the family farm in the Zehner district and spent most of her adult life in Regina. She loved music and singing, bowling, cooking and was a life-long learner taking classes until well into her senior years. Emma had great faith in God. But most of all she loved her family and especially the family get-togethers, including one for her 103rd birthday in August. Emma was always there to teach her nieces and nephews something new and for that we are truly thankful. For the last eleven years Emma was a resident of the Regina Lutheran Home and we thank them for her care. Honouring Emmas request, there will be no service. Those so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Regina Lutheran Home, 1925 5th Avenue North, Regina, SK, S4R 7W1.
