Our life here on earth is short. I counted it a privilege to be standing beside mom as we all mourned the loss of Uncle Emil. It’s just the three Chalupiak sisters, and Auntie Grace and Auntie Stella left, of that original family ... soon it will be mom’s time. I don’t look forward to that. I waved to her in the window, when me and Clarence drove away after the funeral, knowing that that might be the last time I see her on this earth. I feel that every time. But I have a hope in God, to see her again in glory. As we will with Uncle Emil and all those who love God and have a hope in Him. "And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:3-5 (NASB) Over the years, I have saved mom’s messages recorded on my answering machine. Every once in a while I play them back – just so I can hear her voice, right at that moment. “Hello Gayle. It’s just your mom – who loves you. Bye” I’m sad that we can’t hear Uncle Emil’s strong deep voice any more. My condolences Laurie and Louise and Auntie Grace. Our prayers are with you. “Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14: 1-3 (NASB) ...
