Obituary of Butch Lasek

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Butch Lasek, on Thursday,  March 21, 2019 after a year-long battle with cancer. Born in Elkhorn, Manitoba on Nov 24, 1944, he was a loving husband, father and uncle. He will be missed and cherished by his family and friends and will now be reunited with his father Stan, mother Margaret; mother and father-in-law Ross and Anetta Atkinson; and brother-in-law Russ Sutor. Butch had a 32-year career at SaskTel, retiring in 1997. He was an accomplished curler, loved golf, fishing, pool, poker, music and singing. With his loving wife Dianne, they wintered in Arizona where they enjoyed playing the Trilogy Golf Course in the warm winter sun. His summer months were spent entertaining friends and family at their home in Regina Beach, where lots of laughter could always be heard. He is survived by his wife Dianne; son Jace (Olga); brother-in-law Don (Patti) Sutor; and niece Kimberly. The family would like to acknowledge the great care received from the doctors and nurses in the cancer ward and palliative care units at the Pasqua Hospital, as well as all the friends and family who helped out so much during his illness. Butch requested there would be no funeral service, but a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency at www. cancerfoundationsask.ca.

“Raise a glass for Butch, he would love that you did.”
