Obituary of Albert Duncan Morrice
Mr. Albert Morrice of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Thursday, May 16, 2019 surrounded by family. Albert will be lovingly remembered by his three children Cheryl (Ray) Neumann, Debbie (Greg) Sherrard and Duncan (Bonnie) Morrice; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; his three sisters Nellie, Sheila, and Margaret (Wally); and his brother-in-law Robert, Sister-in-law Audrey, Ann (Teo), brother-in-law Keith (Lorraine). He is predeceased by his loving wife Myrna; parents Edward and Chrissie; brothers Edward (Shorty), Alec, Ray; and sister Edie. “Albie” was a family man who was always there for anyone who needed him. He loved airplanes and he started out with Saskatchewan Airways in Uranium City, he then moved to Regina and worked for Prairie Flying Service eventually opening his own business, Southern Aviation. He loved helping family with home projects or car repairs or just being near for a funny joke or story to brighten your day. Family was always his first priority. He was an avid gardener and had a large plot behind his hanger. He loved to share his veggies with anyone who stopped by, especially his famous toasted onion sandwich. Albert loved to golf, mostly in Mesa, AZ where he spent his winters since 1996. Albert was a jack of all trades, skilled mechanic, repair man, golfer, billiards champion, fisherman and crib player. The list is never-ending. Of all the many accomplishments and things he enjoyed in life, going up to his cabin at Besnard Lake was by far his favourite. He spent his summers fixing up the cabin, putting floating markers at his “honey spots” around the lake and fishing long days to catch enough for his limit and shore lunches. Most of all he loved teaching his family, especially his grandchildren, how to be a master at catching walleye, how to tell a believable story of how big their fish was and spending time trying to catch the infamous “Walter”. We would like to thank the staff at Santa Maria Nursing Home for their compassionate care of Albert for the last years of his life. Thank you to the staff of Pasqua Hospital ICU for their loving care during his last days. According to Albert’s wishes there will be no funeral service. A private memorial will be held with family at a later date. Albie, you will be missed by so many; until we meet again, keep catching all the fish up in Heaven.
