Obituary of Cesarina Granello

Our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was called into heaven on Thursday, June 13, 2019. She was a devoted woman who loved her family dearly. She was born in Rovereto, Italy in 1926, second oldest in the family of ten children. She helped to raise and guide her younger siblings. In 1965, with her husband and young son, they came to Canada and settled in Regina with the expectation of new opportunities. Those early years meant hard work and tough times to start a home and raise a family in this new country. She lived a long life, was a strong, steadfast, faithful, woman who lived on her own in her house for thirty four years after her husband passed away. She loved her garden and flowers. Cesarina made the most fabulous meals. We all looked forward to her pizza, pasta sauce, and soups-she loved feeding anyone who came by. Cesarina is survived by her son Marco (Yvonne); daughter Marina (Steven Schultz); grandchildren Tamara (Scott Sentes), Vincenzo (Jillian), Nikki (Dean Reynolds), Michelle, Amanda (Ron Paridaen), and Carly; great-grandchildren, Carter and Madelyn Sentes, Ettore and Renato Granello; and in Italy her brother Vigilio and sisters Gisella and Vittoria; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Carlo and Lodovica; husband Marino in 1985; brothers, Dario, Mario, Pierino, Quinto; and sisters Chiarina and Dolores. We will miss her but we know that she is in a better place. “Riposa in pace, cara mamma.”  Visitation for family and friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 7:00 p.m – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter R.C. Church, 100 Argyle Street North, Regina, SK, on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Family and friends so wishing may make memorial donations in Cesarina’s name to the St. Peter Building Fund.
