Obituary of Donald Fallows

FALLOWS, NORMAN (DON) Don passed away peacefully in Regina, Saskatchewan on January 15, 2013 after a brief illness. Don was born in Regina on February 11, 1936. He attended Connaught School, Central Collegiate and the University of Saskatchewan. His career was spent in the petroleum industry with B. A. Oil, Gulf Oil and Petro Canada. His employment took him to Moose Jaw, Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Regina, where he retired and continued to reside until his passing. Many fond memories and friendships were made while working with his customers. Don was active in volunteer activities, particularly the countless hours he spent fundraising for the national and local psoriasis foundations. His efforts included the purchase of phototherapy equipment for the Pasqua Hospital. Don was also a member of the Regina Prostate Cancer Support Group. As his children grew, he supported their many activities, including serving as a Cub Scout Leader and softball coach. In later years, time was spent attending and enjoying the many activities of his grandchildren. Don had an appreciation for nature. He greatly enjoyed camping and fishing, and time at the cabin at Saskatchewan Beach. Other favorite pastimes included bowling, curling, reading, and playing cards. Dons other passion was his avid interest in financial planning and he derived much enjoyment when freely sharing his knowledge with others. Don was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Una Fallows and a son at birth. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Anne (nee Domm); children Jim (Trina) and Donna Pulock (Darren), and Dons pride and joy, his grandchildren Kyan and Nolan Benesh. He is also survived by his brother, John (Theresa) in High River, Alberta, their children Norman and Cathy, and many other nieces and nephews, school colleagues and friends. Don was a long-term parishioner of St. Lukes Anglican Church. At his request, no funeral will be held. In the spring, a celebration of Dons life will be held with family members on the day of interment. The family extends thanks for the support received from the Allan Blair Cancer Centre and the Palliative Care Program. Donations in memory of Don may be made to the Dermatology Clinic at the Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4T 1A5 or to a charity of your choice.
