Obituary of Stan Cabylis

Our dear Dad and wonderful husband has left the arms of his loving family on July 4, 2019 at the age of 67. Stelios (Stan) Cabylis was born February 15, 1952 in Astros, Arkadia, Greece. In 1966, alongside his parents and siblings they boarded a ship and made their way to Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and onward in search of a better life. He joined the 1st family restaurant-Town & Country at the age of 19 in Weyburn with his parents and brothers, Paul and Gus. Over the next 45 years he had owned and operated many other business. His family moved to Regina in the early eighties. From there he joined his brothers to open The Sherwood house on South Albert, which they ran for 10+ years. In 1991 he opened Western Pizza on Broadway Ave. Which was family operated for 14 years. He made many memories during these times. Stells had a big heart and showed his love to all whom stepped into his restaurants. He extended his family with the friends he had met. He shared countless laughs, a few beers and many games of darts, pool and crib. He sponsored many sports teams and hosted many celebrations at his restaurant or even his home, especially the G-rage. Stelios was predeceased by his parents Demetrios and Ekaterina, mother-in-law Mary Tonita and nephew Demetrios Perdikaris. Stelios is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 43 years of marriage Marlene. Daughter Angela (Adam), Jimi (Kim), Tyler (Kristen), Zachery (Kristie) and his 10 wonderful grandchildren-Arianna, Isabella, Kiara, Kayla, Stelios, Estella, Sofia, Zyler, Beau and Olyna. Brothers Paul (Soula), Gus (Angie) sisters Athanasia (Yianni), Anna (Spiro), Stamatina (Manolis), Sister-in-law Della (Doug) Brother in law Jeff and numerous nieces nephews. We would like to thank the staff of the Medical Surveillance Unit at the Pasqua Hospital, with special thanks to Dr. Lucas and Dr. Kish. As well as Dr. Salgado and Father Spiro for their guidance and prayers. In lieu of flowers the family would like to purchase a bench for the graveside in his memory. Prayers are being held at St. Georges Romanian Orthodox Cathedral on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. and Funeral Services on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.
