Obituary of Larry James Sentes
Larry passed away peacefully and in comfort on Thursday, July 4, 2019 at the age of 65 years, with his wife Debbie by his side, through the program of Medical Assistance in Death (MAID). Larry faced numerous challenges and health issues in his life, including losing an eye in childhood, and suffered through almost 10 years with COPD & most recently prostate cancer. He was a sensitive, kind hearted and generous man who would help anyone in need, who loved and accepted the many rescued animals, mostly cats that came into his life with Debbie. Larry enjoyed playing and watching hockey, floor hockey, golf, and baseball, playing cards, the annual Blues Festival, concerts, muscle cars and watching car races. Over the years he proudly owned several 60’s cars including a Dodge Charger RT, Roadrunner and a GTO. He also enjoyed his pride and joy, a ’56 Chevy Belair that he and Debbie vacationed with to Tofino, B.C. Larry was most happy when he was working until his health worsened. He started working various jobs as a young teen, and later became a house painter, industrial spray painter, and a concrete worker with Sentec Construction who proudly also worked on the Big Dig in Wascana Centre. Larry is survived by his wife Debbie of 46 years, his brother Alvin (Ronda) and their families, his mother-in-law Marion Doering, sister-in-law Donna (John) Lozinski and their families, cousins and his buddies from the Hungarian Club and other friends. He was predeceased by his mother Julie (Archie) Hollstein, his sister Diane Hall (Sam Braun) and family, father John Sentes, and father-in-law Henry (Hank) Doering. We wish to express our immense gratitude & thankfulness to the Gov’t. Of Canada and the wonderful people with MAID, for providing Larry with a compassionate and pain free end to the inevitable pain and suffering that he would have faced. Thanks to pharmacist “Uncle Ron” at R & C for his impeccable service, and to the other care-givers that helped Larry along his path. Respecting Larry’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. Interment at Regina Memorial Gardens. In Larry’s memory, donations may be made to Regina Cat Rescue, P.O.
