Obituary of Gillies McDonald

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Gillies on Friday, April 5, 2013. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings Agnes, Joseph and Patrick. Left to cherish his memories are: his wife Ruth; son Kevin (Sheila) of Victoria, BC and daughter Elaine of Calgary, AB; sister Mary Knowles of Renton, WA; brother Clifford of Prince George, BC; sisters-in-law Marguerite Richey of Regina and Olive Kosher of Sudbury, ON as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Gillies was very devoted to his family, church and community. He spent many of his retirement years volunteering with baseball, Special Olympics, pastoral care and the Knights of Columbus. In his 52 years with the Knights of Columbus, he held offices in both the 3rd and 4th degree. After retirement, Gillies and Ruth enjoyed many winters in Mesa, Arizona. Flowers gratefully declined.
