Obituary of Magdalena Schmidt

Lena passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the age of 92 years. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Barbara Marx; sister Rose and brother Peter. Lena is survived by her children, Al (Anna), and Angie (Dale); two grandchildren Hannah (Cole) and Liam (Ashley); sister Katerina and her family; and special friends, Sister Sabina and Jean Trohack. Lena was born on July 21, 1927 in Erdevik, Yugoslavia. She came to Canada in 1954, settling in Regina and raised her family. Lena had an interest in gardening, and loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She was a long-time resident at the Horizon building in Regina where she sat on the board and helped with various activities in the building. Lena enjoyed animals and birds especially her budgie, Tweety.  The family would like to thank the staff at Parkside Extendicare for their excellent care. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Saturday, August 31 , 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Regina Memorial Gardens.
