Obituary of Roy William Chatterson

Roy, late of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Pasqua Hospital after a brief battle of cancer, at the age of 85 years. He is survived by his wife Betty; children Jeff (Leslie) and Jamie (Barry) Davidson; grandchildren, MacKenzie (Bryan) Read, Breeann (Kirk) DeHaven, Maxwell Warner (Katelyn), Dalin Davidson (Asanti), Joel Davidson, and Beck Chatterson; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Jamieson, Mason and Georgia; sister Elaine Melvin; as well as numerous other Chatterson and Gibbons family members. Roy was predeceased by his parents Bill and Vera Chatterson; brother Melvin (Jyl); brother-in-law Bert Melvin; nephew Dale Chatterson; grandson Landon Roy Davidson who passed away on August 25, 2017; as well as several members of Betty’s family. Roy was born on February 28, 1934 in Wolseley, Saskatchewan and moved to Regina after graduation where he lived until his passing. Roy and Betty were married on September 6, 1958 in Colfax, Saskatchewan. Roy was an avid Saskatchewan Roughrider fan and held season tickets for over 55 years. He enjoyed sports of any kind. Music was one of his passions. He was great piano player, and especially loved Jazz, Dixieland, and Big Band music. Roy and Betty enjoyed many years of travel together before and after retirement, which included 16 cruises as well as annual golf getaways to Santa Maria, California. He especially loved spending time with family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all. We Love You Dad.”   Celebration of Roy’s Life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends so wishing, may make memorial donations in Roy’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK,  S7K 1V9.
