Obituary of Jeanetta Emma Green
GREEN, Jan (Jeanetta)
Dec. 23, 1920 – Sept. 19, 2019
Jan Green, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, who could never let anyone leave without offering them “a bite to eat”, left us on Thursday, September 19, 2019. Jan was the youngest of six children born to William and Margaret Shewfelt. She and her siblings were farm kids, although her claims that she walked four miles uphill (both ways) to school and milked twenty-one cows before school, were viewed with some scepticism by her children. Ralph Green (who passed away in 2011) considered himself very fortunate to have married the beautiful Jeanetta after he returned from the war in 1945. Together for over sixty plus years, they built a business – Shamrock Construction, and a loving and laughter-filled environment for family and friends. They produced four handsome, brilliant and accomplished children: Douglas (who sadly died in 1948), Sharon, Richard, and Betty. Amazingly, they had seven, even more spectacular (in their opinion) grandsons: Roderick (Catherine) and Andrew Graham, Daniel (Jessica) and Lukas (Katie) Mayer, Kevin (Brandy), Ryan (Christine), and Donovan (Robyn) Green. The gene pool was further enhanced by the arrival of eleven “GREAT” grandchildren: Ben, Emilia, Jackson (Graham), William, Remy, Keira, Archer, Gradyn, Ayla, Jackson (Mayer), and Finley. Jan was the treasured heart of our family and will be remembered with love and a smile by all who knew her. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina SK on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
