JOHNSON, Ida Lillian Alice (nee Sheil)

1925-2019

Ida passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Regina General Hospital at the age of 94 years.  She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Karen (Kirk) Lawson; son Dale (Rita Schiller) Johnson; grandchildren Chanda (Kim) Schmidt and Christy Lawson; great-grandchildren Ireland Schmidt and Cael and Grace Dunbar, all of Regina; and many nieces and nephews. Ida was predeceased by her husband Clare; grandson Bradley Johnson; twin sister Linda Soward and her nine other siblings. She was born in Lanark County, Ontario, and spent her life in Ottawa, Toronto, Saskatoon and Regina. Her family was the main focus of her long life. Ida was a long-time member of All Saints Anglican Church. She lived at Wintergreene Estates, and more recently at Westminster Care Home, where she developed friendships with other residents and staff. The family also wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Regina General Hospital for their compassionate care during the final weeks of Ida’s life. A Graveside Service for family and friends will be held at Riverside Memorial Park, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East, Regina, SK, on Monday, September 23, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. Please meet inside cemetery gates.
