On behalf of my family, our thoughts and prayers with those who love Ms Trudy Stewart. As well as the filming community.
It was privilege to work with Trudy on nîpawistamâsowin these past months and to become friends. She dedicated much to sharing my family's story and believed in the changes we are advocating for. She was a warrior.
She will be missed.

To Trudy's family I send my heartfelt condolences.
I was lucky enough to meet Trudy this past Spring when she came to Hot Docs to be a part of the Doc Accelerator Emerging Filmmaker program. I feel blessed that I had the opportunity to know her and her work. She was such an amazing presence to have with us at the lab and she had an incredible strength and a beautiful storytelling voice.
I wish that I could have known her longer.
With love,
Stephanie McArthur

Trudy was a delight to talk with and get to know. I am so sad that I won’t be able to talk with her anymore in this mortal life. I believe that we all meet again someday and I will hold that in my heart. Until then, Trudy, I will miss you.

I had the chance to work with Trudy over the past year and a bit. She struck me as a woman who was really finding her voice in storytelling and setting out to make a positive difference in the world. She talked a lot about her two children and this is what hurts the most in seeing her leave this world. I hope they carry their mother's strength into the future and know that they were loved.

Their are those few people whose light shines so brightly it touches everyone in the room. Her light was bright and warm and lit up the lives of many. Her contributions to our community is unmeasurable. She gifted us by sharing her passion, her dedication and her immense warmth. She will leave a hole in this community.
Dear family, and in particular her children, thank you for sharing her with us. We are better people because of her. Much love.

Dear Cliff, Beverly, Jaime, Cali and Joshua,
This is unfathomable. From the depths, she rose. She rose. While I am broken, I know she is giving that incredible smile. Her story is not done yet. Only her journey here. I have way too memories of her. I will keep y’all in my thoughts and prayers and see you next week❤️

Hey Trud. I am going to miss you. I was so sure I would see you next time you were in Toronto. You were really living your dream. We just chatted a couple of weeks ago when xaviera stopped by your house. She was picking up some pots for Lex. She told me that you looked so good, so happy, and she said that you two had a good chat. She told me she made you laugh, and I can just picture that now. I remember you talking about Josh & Cali all of the time; how proud you are of them and how much you love them. I know they are the center of your world. I also know how much you love your Mom and Dad and Jamie and Rob, and how they have a special place in your heart. I’m so proud of you, girl, and I hope I told you that. I love you Trud.
