Dear Brenna and family:
I am so very sorry for your loss. Your Mom was someone who always made me smile. I was delighted to have her in my daughter's life over the years, during all the times you and Tierney spent together. Your Mom always seemed loving and wise.

John and family, I was saddened to hear about Luella's recent passing and I am thinking of you at this time.
Luella was a very special and lovely person who brought joy to so many people's lives. She was well respected by the library community due to her devotion to her career and impact on others.
I remember some of our chats when we worked as volunteers in preparation for the Lifelong Learning
Centre's annual Big Book Sale.
Long ago, I can remember shopping and visiting at the wonderful Reader's Corner bookstore.

As I celebrated my work anniversary with Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation upon hearing the news of Luella's passing, I reflected that this would not have happened, nor continued, without Luella hiring and mentoring me. I look fondly back on memories of road trips, staff retreats and more where we enjoyed laughs and always had lots of fun (in between the hard work of course)! Condolences to fellow habs fan John and their daughter Brenna. Lu will be missed.

One of Luella's major contributions to libraries was her fierce determination to protect the Saskatchewan public library system that she & John had worked so hard to create and sustain. She collected hundreds of signatures on the Save Saskatchewan Libraries petition spending hours in sometimes unpleasant weather to ensure that Saskatchewan people would not lose what took years to build. Her energy & enthusiasm & wicked laugh will be missed! Love and deep sympathy to John and her daughter.

In the art studio each week vibrant, reflective, spiritual, creative, humorous Lu shared with awe the joyous and profound messages that showed up in her intentional art that brought much meaning making and peace to her spirit. Lu’s artworks gifted her seeing herself from new perspectives, and discovering the beauty, dignity, resiliency and authenticity in her own narrative. Lu explored hope through her art, not as expectation of outcome but a quality of intimacy that is available in the present moment. Lu helped us all recognize, deepen, and carry this hope out into the world.
Blessings of peace, strength, and compassion to Lu’s family. May you be held in great love as you find your way through this time of healing.
May you receive all that you need.
May the days ahead unfold
with small blessings
being found
in gentle nooks of grace.
For the raindrop, joy is in entering the river. (Ghalib)
