Obituary of Michael Metro Woroniak

Mike, late of Lumsden, SK was born May 22, 1932, in Glenavon, SK to John and Edna Woroniak.  He peacefully passed away at the Pasqua Hospital on October 18, 2019, surrounded by his heartbroken family, at the age of 87 years. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Irene; son Calvin (Deanna); daughter Karen (Jim) Waddell; son Warren (Lea); daughters Paulette (Ken); and Pauline (Jeff) Leippi; nine grandchildren: Raymond, Curtis, Tammy; Tamara, Brody; Tyler, Ryan; Christopher and Brendon; ten great-grandchildren: Sacha, Claire; Aura Mae; Sunny, Casey; Mason, Kinley; Max; Benjamin; and Noah; sister Eva Beckett; one niece and several nephews.  He was predeceased by his father and mother, sister Sally and nephew Bob. Mike loved the lake, cottage and fishing.  It’s where he spent quality time with his family and friends. Mike had a quick wit, big friendly smile and loved to tease and joke. There will be no funeral, as per Mike’s wishes.  He much preferred all the loving and caring visits while he was alive and found that much more meaningful. Thank you to the paramedics, social workers, home care, doctors, nurses, and the Accountable Care Unit 4B at the Pasqua Hospital for making Mike’s journey to heaven more comfortable.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mike, to a charity of choice.
