Obituary of Ronald George Powell

On Saturday, January 4, 2020, we lost a kind and gentle man. Ron passed away peacefully under the loving and caring eye of family and the wonderful nursing teams of 5E at the General Hospital. Ron is now reunited with his love of almost 60 years, Donna. He is also predeceased by his daughter Heather; parents, Julia and Fred; siblings, Ken and Ruby and sadly many other family and friends. Ron is survived by his son Stephen and daughter-in-law Pam Klein; the true joys of his life, grandchildren Elias (Kelowna, BC) and Greta; sister-in-law Isabel Powell (Sherwood Park, AB); numerous nieces and nephews; dear friends Wally and Obie, Joan, Larry and neighbors, Clay, Judy and Murray as well as many others. Ron was an extraordinarily kind person. He always had time for a chat with anyone and would actively listen. He left a positive impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to meet him. Many fond memories were created during summers at Regina Beach and springs at Kinsmen Park for baseball. As well as countless rounds with friends at the Royal Regina Golf Course. But his greatest joy came from watching Elias and Greta do pretty much anything. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family and friends so wishing, may make memorial donations in Ron’s name to the Regina Humane Society, Box 3143, Regina, SK, S4P 3G7.
