Obituary of Phyllis Katherine Gette
With broken hearts, the family of Phyllis Gette announces her passing on January 24, 2020. Phyllis was born January 20, 1937 in Vanguard, SK to Joe and Pearl (Cherepuschak) Krenosky and grew up on the family farm near Glenbain. She went on to attend Teacher’s College and taught for three years before meeting the love of her life, George. They soon married and began life together in Saskatoon where they started their family. Phyllis was a committed mother to their two children while George’s career took them to Regina, Lethbridge, and Calgary before returning to Regina to be closer to family. She enjoyed gardening and had an abundance of flowers blooming throughout the year. Phyllis was known for keeping a spotless home and being a great cook and baker, always looking to perfect the next meal or dessert. Phyllis was predeceased by her loving husband, George in 2012, after 53 years of marriage. She is survived by daughter Shelley (Lance); son Geoff (Loretta); and her beloved granddaughters, April and Amber, who brought her much joy and many smiles. She also leaves her brother Eugene (Anne); sisters Sonja (Edgar), Sylvia (Brian), and Gladys; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as George’s family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when the flowers are blooming. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada, www.parkinson.ca.
