Obituary of Eunice Isabel Sawatsky

Beloved wife (72 ½ years) of Cornelius Sawatsky; loving mother to Sandra Maitland, husband Ralph; grandmother to Elizabeth and her husband, Abbas, great-grandmother to their children, Milia and Noah; and grandson Philip Maitland of Calgary.

Son, Murray Sawatsky and his wife Karen; grandson Jeff and his wife Lindsey; granddaughter Raeane Mihalicz, her husband Justin and great grandmother to Baby A and Baby B in utero.  Also, Grandma loved her fur grand-dog Joevie.

She is also survived by her daughter Barb Buist and her granddaughter McKenzie Buist of Calgary.

Eunice was born in Webb, Saskatchewan and spent her first 33 years of marriage in Swift Current where she worked a number of jobs in retail serving the longest with the Pioneer Coop.  Cornelius and Eunice moved to BC in 1980 living in both Langley and Victoria before relocating to Regina in 2001. With failing health concerns they purchased Eunice’s dream home near Murray and his family. When Eunice reached the need for full-time healthcare they moved into Victoria Park residential health care home.

Eunice loved all her new friends, the staff, management and caregivers and was very fond of the bus driver Ron.

Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
