Obituary of Sylvia Gwen Edith Shulver

SHULVER, SYLVIA FEBRUARY 12, 1944 " MARCH 13, 2009 It is with sadness that we announce Sylvias sudden passing in Edmonton, AB after a lengthy illness. Sylvia is survived by her father, Charles Shulver (Regina); sisters, Carol Thomas and Mavis Bryant (both of Carlyle); her good friend, Gloria Anderson (Edmonton). She was predeceased by her mother Hester Shulver; and her common-law husband, Doug Rae. Sylvia was born at Woodrow, SK, spent her childhood on the family farm and was educated there. She left home after Grade X11 and went to the University of Saskatchewan for one year then joined the Royal Canadian Navy. She then traveled the country, visited all ten provinces and lived in five provinces and on two oceans during her work careers and early retirement. In later years she joined the Order of the Eastern Star, Regina. Her interests were reading, following the news, sports and nature. She was a happy sort, content with simple pleasures. Sylvia had a sense of humor and a positive outlook on life. Sylvia and her dad (Charles Shulver) shared a common bond through their avid interest in sports and nature. Sylvia was a long time resident of Edmonton, however, her final resting place will be with her family in Saskatchewan. Special thanks to her very caring and helpful friend, Gloria in Edmonton.
