Obituary of Hanne Marian Sowan

Hanne passed away in Regina, SK, on Thursday, February 20, 2020.  She was born in Denmark on October 25, 1945 to Aage and Grethe Christophersen where she grew up and lived until the age of 12. In her young years, while living in Denmark, Hanne loved to visit her grandparents in Fredensborg where she and her friends would wait for the princess Margrethe, who is now the queen of Denmark, to finish her daily riding lessons so they could play inside the Fredensborg Palace. Hanne also enjoyed playing with her siblings in the surrounding forest across from her grandparents’ home. In 1957, Hanne’s family moved to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada where she raised her children and lived most of her life. Hanne worked as an addictions counselor and in a seniors care home as a care giver until her retirement. She was predeceased by her daughter Tammy Katcheech, husband Felix Mathias, parents Aage and Grethe Christophersen, birth mother Ane Jensine Marie Schwiecker, sister Lise Sinclair, brother-in-law Randy Domstad and sister-in-law Virginia Lee Christophersen. Hanne is survived by  her children Clifford (Becky) Katcheech, Wayne (Connie) Katcheech, Debbie Katcheech and Cheyenne Mathias, son-in-law Blair Inscho, grandchildren Clifford JR, Krista, Keenan, Jaiden; Kyra, Teresa, Celina (Stanley), Terry, Samantha (Chris), Teanna, Jared, Jennifer, Precious and 25 great grandchildren, brother Arnie Christophersen, sisters Lone (Ed) Domstad, Soli Schwiecker, Gerda Schwiecker, Inge Schwiecker, Jyette Schwiecker and brother-in-law Bill Sinclair.
