Obituary of Garth Leonard Kalaman
KALAMAN, Garth Leonard
August 22, 1961 – March 5, 2020
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father, papa, son and friend on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the age of 58 years. Garth was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan and was the oldest of five children. Garth met the love of his life, Debbie in 1980 and they became one on September 28, 1985. Soon after they married, Garth started his 33 year career at CCRL. He was a hardworking, funny, compassionate and loving man who had a contagious laugh and a smile that would instantly lighten up a room. Garth was loved by so many, always taking the time to stop and talk, crack a joke, or give wise advice. He was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off of his back at any time, even if it was his last. Garth continues to give back even after his passing by donating his organs and giving a few individuals a second chance at life; exactly what he would have wanted. He also loved the Saskatchewan Roughriders - often attending home games with his sister, Linda and nephew, Tyler. Garth enjoyed coaching floor hockey for 20+ years, going on many fishing adventures, driving back roads for hours, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren! Garth is survived by his wife Debbie; son Daric (Hanna); daughter Megan (Justin); his granddaughters Rachel, Rebecca, Taya; and grandson Jace of Regina, Saskatchewan. In keeping with Garth’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Garth’s Life will be held at the Turvey Centre, 100 Armour Road, Regina, SK on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. Casual dress in your Rider Apparel is encouraged.
