OLIVE MARIE DIONNE (OHARA)
Olive Marie (OHara) passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009 in Steinbach, MB, a week after attending the memorial service for her son-in-law. Olive was born on May 13, 1920 at Ceylon, SK. She was predeceased by her parents, Bernard and Catherine (McGrath) OHara; her husband, Raymond Dionne (2007); an infant son, Richard; sister, Rita Woodard; brothers, Joseph and John OHara; sons-in-law, James Schmidtz (1982) and Ken Braun (2009). Olive is survived by her children, Gary (Marge) and their children Robert (Christa) and Jacquelyn (Chris) Facca; Marita Robinson (David) and her children, Ryan Schmidtz and Caitlin Schmidtz; Cheryl Braun and her daughter Chantel (Bobby) Penner; Brian (Eva) and their children Lynnette (Scott) Maier and Nancy (Chad) Bentz; Stephen (Fay) and their children Curtis, Deidra and Drew; Catherine; Danita (Carlos) Nunez and their children, Olivia and Raya; seven great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Olive taught school in Wauchope, SK and Ceylon, SK. Olive and Raymond were married in 1942. Olive later returned to teaching at St. Oliviers Catholic School in Radville. She was a past president and an active member of the CWL. After Ray and Olive retired in Regina they became very active in Christ the King Parish. They delivered meals on wheels, visited the sick, organized funeral lunches and bridge tournaments for the Knights of Columbus. In 1993 a fitting tribute was paid when the Raymond and Olive Dionne family were the recipients of the Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Family of the Year Award. They were also the nominees for the International Knights of Columbus Family of the Year Award. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009 in Christ the King R.C. Church, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina with Rev. Anthony F. Dizy presiding. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.speersfuneralchapel.com
