I am Wes and Linda's niece, Carol. My dad Alf is Linda's eldest brother. When I was about 12 years old, my family visited the Norheims. We spent a number of days at their cottage. Wes took us out fishing, I guess he figured he would show me how its done. Actually there were two boats as I recall. Angie (my youngest aunt) and her boyfriend were in the other boat, both boats were brimming with relatives. Anyway Wes kept hollering to the other boat, "Carol caught another one!" In total I caught five fish that afternoon. I think the other boat caught one fish. Wes caught none and I caught five! Unbelievable. Wes sure showed me how its done, fishing wise at least. Thanks for the great memory Uncle Wes, I will cherish that day forever...

To you Linda and children, our sincerest sympathy for your loss.
Wes was a neighbour, friend, and confidante. His ready smile lit up the room whenever he entered. Wes was a gracious and caring soul. His honesty was above reproach, leaving the world a better place than he found it.
We remember Wes, you and the children in our prayers.
Love Myrna & Ed

Dear Linda and family of Wes,
Heather and I are very saddened to learn of Wes's passing. I knew Wes for over 40 years. I admired Wes for his ability to speak for working people. But, Wes did not speak only on bread and butter issues, he also spoke on broader issues of solidarity, social justice, and peace. It was not possible to meet Wes without discussing topical issues affecting working people. Wes had an enthusiasm about him that was contagious. Meeting him always made me feel optimistic. Please accept our sincere condolences on your loss. Wes's friends at the Tommy Douglas Coffee Club will miss him, as will many workers across western Canada. Sincerely,
Ed Lehman, President, Regina Peace Council

So sorry to hear of Wes's passing. I looked forward to meeting with Wes and Linda at every SFL Christmas party. Wes was dedicated to workers and was especially understanding of the difficulties experienced by injured workers. I really respected him for that. To Linda and the family I pass on my most heartfelt sympathy on your loss.

Ethia & I want to express our sadness on hearing of Wes's passing and offer our sympathy to Linda and family. Wes was one of my favourite people. We both came from small town/rural Saskatchewan and our birthdays are less than a week apart. During the time we shared at Workers Compensation I learned that he was a very thoughtful, gentle and caring person. I like to think he taught me a lot during that time about caring for those around us. R.I.P my friend.
