Bernice Winnifred McMAHON
(nee Brown)
January 23, 1937 – March 31, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernice at the age of 83 years after a courageous battle with cancer. Bernice was predeceased by her beloved husband of 41 years, Thomas Wayne in 2001. She was also predeceased by her parents Edward and Marion Brown, sister Lorraine Kraus in 2002 and twin boys in infancy. Bernice is survived by her brother Donald (Joyce) Brown of Victoria BC; four loving daughters Lori Thompson of Regina SK, Linda (Rick) Allsen of Red Deer AB, Lisa (Lyle) Wagner of Southey SK, and Leanne (Brian) Dechief of Regina SK; her grandchildren Chesla (Joey), Jenna, Kyle (Olena), Sean, Boyd, Duncan, Zachary and Lucas; three great-grandchildren Jordyn, Rylan and Jace. Bernice also leaves to mourn many extended family members and friends. Bernice was born and raised in Regina where she attended Scott Collegiate. She worked for SaskPower for many years before leaving to raise her daughters. When her girls were older, she went back to work in her husband’s accounting office. She loved to spend time with her family and her beloved dog Savana, who passed away last year. Bernice was a dedicated Rider fan, and she also very much enjoyed having a day out for lunch and shopping with her girls. A special thank you to the palliative care team at the Pasqua Hospital, the staff at Emmanuel Villa Care Home in Emerald Park where Bernice spent her final month of life. In accordance with Bernice’s wishes, the family will be having a private burial. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Bernice to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina SK S4P 2R3 or to Regina Humane Society, PO Box 3143 STN Main, Regina SK S4P 3G7.
