Elise Yonkman

Elise passed away peacefully in Moosomin, SK on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the age of 89 years.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard “Dick” Yonkman in 2010, as well as numerous family members.  Left to cherish her memory are her children Leonard (Gail) Yonkman of Kelowna BC, Donald (Joan) Yonkman of Saskatoon SK, Bernard Yonkman of Vermilion AB, and Doreen Benning (Ronald) of Regina SK. Elise also leaves to mourn her passing are her grandchildren Nolan (Shannon) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, April Roy (Nikolas) of Kelowna, Krista Moore (nee Yonkman) of Saskatoon, Shane (Denille) of Saskatoon, Travis (Kayle) of Red Deer, Tina Betz (Tobias) of Vermilion, Chantel Betz (Jeffrey) of Vermilion, Mitchell Yonkman of Vermilion,  Sarah Schewaga (Derek) of Regina and Jennifer Benning (Nick Mclean) of Edmonton and sixteen great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins and extended families. Elise was born in Punnichy SK on October 22, 1930.  She met her life partner Dick, and they were married in November 1950. They lived on the family farm near Punnichy until 2006 when they moved to Raymore SK.  Elise lived life to the fullest, she spent countless hours crocheting, caring for her African Violet houseplants and building jig-saw puzzles.  A special thanks to the staff at the Southeast Integrated Care Centre in Moosomin for their unbelievable compassion, respect and care above and beyond the family’s expectations. A Family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Elise to a charity of one’s choice.
