Obituary of Brian James Lynch

LYNCH, Brian James

1948-2020

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Brian James Lynch of Regina, SK. Brian passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at the age of 71 years.  He was predeceased by parents Don and Marion; brother Terry Lynch; in-laws Mai and Ed Francis; niece Paula Francis; and sister-in-law Sue Francis.  Brian is survived by his wife Lynne; sons James and Richard (Deanna); his beloved grandchildren: Seth, Jebb, Maya and Jaid, who brought so much joy into his life; siblings Bob Lynch (Leslie); Shelly Hein (Stan); sister-in-law Peggy Lynch; aunts Norma Romuld and Betty Manyk; Francis-in-laws: Don Francis, Ray Francis (Bev), Doug Francis (Sheila), Susan Francis, Judy Fletcher (Lawrence) and Ruth Ditson (Barry); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours, work colleagues and close friends. He was loved by all. Brian was born in Saskatoon in 1948, and grew up on the family farm outside of Lockwood SK. Upon leaving the farm he graduated from Olds College.  Brian and Lynne were married in 1970, lived in Outlook and Broderick before moving to Weyburn in 1977 and finally Regina in 1982. Brian had a deep love for his family.  He was blessed with many friends who had a special place in his heart.  Brian was passionate about organizing local fundraising events, family reunions, cooking, live music and giving to others. He always enjoyed his various work venues and meeting new people who often became lifelong friends. Paskaruk’s, Millers, and many others who helped him through the challenges of the past five years, were a true testament to Brian’s friendships. Brian enjoyed music, sports, traveling the prairie landscapes, and anything to do with nature, especially at his little retreat on Katepwa Lake. Visiting, laughing and staying positive were his specialties. He leaves behind lasting memories with many people and Brian’s gift of those memories will be forever treasured by his family and friends. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, interment and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.  Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations in memoriam to Kinsmen Telemiracle, 2217C Hanselman Court Saskatoon, SK S7L 6A8. Relatives and friends may reach out to the Lynch family by visiting Brian’s Tribute page at www.speersfuneralchapel.com and let them know you are thinking of them during this difficult time.

As Brian always said “It is what it is”.
